Wednesday, June 24, 2015   Firefighters Rich Volpi and Erin Christunas received their certificates for completing the Firefighting I program at the Montgomery County Fire Academy. At a combined 376 Hours of training, not counting the countless hours practicing at home and in station. This is extreme sacrifice of time and energy spent away from their friends and families that we and the community are extremely grateful for. Rich and Erin, we are extremely proud of you and look forward to working with you for many more years in the Volunteer Fire Service. Thank you.



E-ONE Pre Build Meeting

Tuesday, May 12, 2015  Members of Swedeland's Ladder Replacement Committee and Upper Merion Township Fire Marshal Bill Daywalt Jr., vistied the E-ONE Manufacturing Plant in Ocala Florida. Generally called a "pre-build" meeting this is an oppurtunity for a customer to examine the overall production capabilities and techniques of the manufacturer and to examine or make slight changes to the design of the apparatus prior to the onset of construction.



Goodwill Fire Company's 100th Anniversary Parade

Saturday, May 9, 2015  The Officers and Members were proud to have the opportunity to participate in the parade and re-dedication of the Goodwill Fire Company Firehouse and Apparatus during the celebration of  their 100th Anniversary. Fire Chief Orangers presented Goodwill's leadership with a generous donation to be used in the update of  their SCBA Equipment. A total of three trophies we awarded to Swedeland including a 1st place trophy for Ladder 48!



Norristown Recognition

Tuesday, May 5, 2015  On Tuesday May 5th multiple area Emergency agencies including Swedeland were recognized by the Norristown Municipal Council and Norristown Fire Chief Tom O'Donnell for their efforts during the incidents at 611 Swede Street and 818 Kohn Street in the Borough of Norristown. Assistant Chief Kevin Smith was on hand to receive the citations.

Saturday, May 2, 2015  Congratulations to the new Mr And Mrs Christopher Camarda. Chris Camarda and Jillian Becker were united in marriage on May 2nd 2015 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Norristown.



Vehicle Fire

Friday, April 10, 2015 0111 Just after 1:00 AM this morning Swedeland Volunteers were alerted to a Vehicle Fire at South Gulph Road and Trinity Lane in the Gulph Mills section of Upper Merion Township.



Outstanding Effort

Friday, April 10, 2015  The Officers and Members are excited to announce that Firefighter Michael Destefano Jr. Has won the Gold Medal in the Firefighting Skills competition held in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Michael represents the Central Montgomery County Technical High School and faced off against 10 other Competitors from all over the State of Pennsylvania.

During the Competition there were a series of practical skills test including ladders, hose evolutions, ropes and knots and a timed SCBA donning event which Michael accomplished in 49 seconds. He also out matched His competitors in the 150 Question written test.

Michael will now move on to the National Competition held in Louisville Kentucky. Congratulations Michael and best of luck!
