Radio System Enhancement

On Wednesday March 2nd at 7:00 PM the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety will stand before the Upper Merion Township Zoning Hearing Board. They will be requesting a variance to replace the 96-foot tall radio communication tower located on the top of Hughes Road in Upper Merion with a 169-foot tall tower. The new tower will accommodate the Montgomery County and Pennsylvania State Police 800 MHz radio system and will greatly improve radio reception in the area for Emergency Responders.

On multiple occasions our own Volunteers Firefighters have encountered "dead zones" of radio reception in several areas. This presents a dangerous situation at times for all of our Township Emergency Personnel.

Fellow Residents and Board Members, please support the zoning variance and allow the radio tower to be replaced ! Please view the attached powerpoint presentation from the MCDPS.

LED light project

Assistant Engineer Rich Volpi stands in front the new LED lighting project that was completed recently in the main engine bay. Rich aquired the LED lights by a donation from Colonial Electric Supply and installation services were donated by William Shaeffer and Sons Electricians. Thanks to both for their kindness. A donation of this nature is often a indicator of a Companys confidence and performance and can then be translated into superior products and customer service. Please consider patronizing them in the future.
